The South Asia By the Bay conference at Stanford May 9-11, 2012 will have at least a few presentations on South Asian art, including a paper on kalamkari by yours truly 🙂 Plus, Stanford’s Baatcheet will serve as the culmination of the conference on the 11th – check it out!

Phantoms of Asia opens at the Asian Art Museum San Francisco on May 18, 2012. Amongst the stellar works on display will be several excellent contributions by South Asian artists: NS Harsha, Prabhavathi Meppayil, Jagannath Panda, Adeela Suleman,  Raqib Shaw, and Varunika Saraf.
